The official launch of the WISE-AI project took place in Nicosia, Cyprus, where Mind The Game proudly hosted the Kick-Off Meeting alongside partners from across Europe. With a shared vision to boost young women's employability in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Sustainable Development, the meeting marked the beginning of a journey toward innovation, equity, and empowerment.

A Shared Mission for Inclusive Innovation

WISE-AI brings together a strong consortium of forward-thinking partners - ICONGreece, Atermon, ActiveYouth, ISCTE, and Txorierri - united by a mission to bridge the gender gap in tech. At its core, the project is about more than just skills training. It's about reshaping the landscape of STEM and AI to be more inclusive, more equitable, and more capable of responding to the global challenges defined by the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Through structured educational content, interactive tools, and a gamified learning experience, WISE-AI aims to provide young women aged 18–30 with the resources they need to thrive as engineers, data scientists, and changemakers in their communities.

Insights and Collaboration at the KOM

The Kick-Off Meeting was an opportunity for partners to align on the project's goals, milestones, and activities. Discussions centred on ensuring a gender-sensitive and participatory approach to AI education — one that considers both technological skills and the societal impact of AI innovation.

Highlights of the meeting included:

• Reviewing the aesthetic direction of the project and digital tools

• Laying the groundwork for the WISE-AI Knowledge Portal, which will host educational resources, community engagement spaces, and learning modules in multiple languages

• Defining the structure of upcoming workshops and surveys, which will inform the needs-based design of learning content

• Beginning early conceptualisation for the WISE-AI Minecraft Game, a unique platform to teach AI and sustainability through engaging, interactive storytelling

• Partners also discussed key operational areas including project management, communication strategies, and quality assurance — ensuring a strong foundation for successful implementation across all work packages.

Looking Ahead

Over the next two years, WISE-AI will unfold through iterative phases of development, piloting, and dissemination. Whether it's tackling pressing engineering problems like water scarcity in Cyprus through AI applications or inspiring young women to explore careers in data and tech, the project is set to make a lasting impact.

As we reflect on a successful beginning, we look forward to building not just tools and content — but confidence, ambition, and leadership among Europe’s next generation of women in AI.

Stay tuned for updates as WISE-AI evolves into a living, learning platform for change. 🌍✨
